Strictly Dancing with Allmed
Here at Allmed we are proud to sponsor Variety, The Children’s Charity. We see our relationship with Variety as more than an annual donation and actively seek out out opportunities to work alongside Variety to support them logistically as well as financially, enabling them to deliver Great Days Out to as many sick, disabled, special needs and disadvantaged children in the UK as possible.
In June 2018, we met with Variety to discuss an opportunity to run a series of nationwide dance outreach programmes, and how we might best support them in delivering this ambitious event.
Working closely with the fabulous Dave King – Variety’s Head of Programmes, the week-long programme would take in 3 locations across the UK – Manchester, Liverpool and London.
We kicked off on 5th March in Manchester at the famous Old Trafford Stadium – home to Manchester United and were pleased to welcome children from 5 different schools. They spent the day immersed in different activities ranging from classical ballet performed by a group from a ballet school in Moscow, to an accessible modern dance workshop facilitated by a specialist wheelchair performance group complete with assistance dog Indy!
The children even managed to squeeze in a mini stadium tour courtesy of our generous hosts.
The tour continued to Liverpool, this time at Anfield, home to the legendary Liverpool Football Club, where the children were treated to the same wonderful experience.
From Liverpool, the journey south brought us home to London and the week rounded off, at a very different venue, The Assembly Hall home to The Church of England in Westminster.
Judging by the overwhelmingly positive feedback from teachers and pupils alike, the week was a huge success, and we attribute that in large part to the mutual collaboration that we have forged with Variety.
The experience was incredibly rewarding for us as a corporate partner, and we want to thank Variety for allowing us the opportunity to work with them in delivering a programme to benefit and enrich the lives of so many young people.
